Litha – Solstice

The Summer Solstice!!!. I can’t believe how fast it’s coming up. When I think of the Summer Solstice it brings back so many memories of carefree Summer days. The cycle continues once more and the lazy, hazy days of Summer always bring back some nostalgia for me. Though I’m not a fan of really hot days where I sweat buckets, I still love the whole idea that Summer is a time for families and friends, outdoor activities such as Pagan Picnic, cookouts and 4th of July parades. Riding bikes, picnics, swimming in lakes, oceans and pools, being tan and active and soooo tired at the end of the day from having so much Summer Fun with our family and friends.

It’s all about reading in hammocks, sitting on lawn chairs or laying on a blanket under a tree in the shade. It’s fishing, and hiking and gardening. Ice tea or lemonade on the porch or under a Shady Tree as the Summer Breeze cools our precious bodies down from the Hot Rays of Ra. As we get older my brother’s and sister’s, we find our own appreciation of Summer in different ways. For it is a It time to feel young again to join the kids running thru sprinklers, cranking that old ice cream maker, playing frisbee or floating on a raft on the river or in the pool.

Summer is such a great time of year. As Children of the Goddess, the Summer Solstice or Litha is the time of year we should make new protection bottles, place new protection around our homes, give offerings to the Fae and the Mother Goddess. We should harvest our herbs as they grow, and keep ourselves grounded to the Earth. We should keep our feet in her soil, grass and sand, our faces to the Sun, our backs leaning against a tree, our hands weeding, planting or watering as our hearts connects to the starry skies, the Moon, the warm Summer winds or the warm refreshing rain.

It’s a beautiful time of year my darlings. We should always do our best to make the most of every day, to find magick everyday in everything we do. We should always find it even important to be sure to enjoy every moment in our life’s. Don’t let your mind be spinning constantly with what is coming next or what needs to be done tomorrow Summer is a slow down and stop and smell the roses season. We should play like children in the Summer Sun as the Sun Feeds our Inner Spirit. There should always be an eternal Summer in our hearts. Bright Blessings
